Firehouse Theater Company announces 2011-12 season

The three titles in Firehouse Theater Company's 2011-12 season range from an emotional drama rooted in the tragedy of 9/11 to a mash-up of two Charles Dickens stories. Anne Nelson's "The Guys," the Dickens-inspired "A Christmas Twist" and Dennis Lehane's "Coronado" figure on the upcoming schedule. With a fourth, yet-to-be-announced musical slated for next year, the coming season will offer plenty of variety.

Firehouse Theater Company announces the 2011 – 2012 Season

August 26 – September 17, 2011
The Guys by Anne Nelson
directed by Don DeVeux

In the aftermath of 9/11,  a New York City fire captain struggles to prepare eulogies for many of his men who died on that  terrible day. He talks about these men--who they were, why they were firefighters, and what they meant to him and the community—with a writer who has volunteered to help him fashion the stories to be told at the memorial services, and the two embark on a journey of friendship, tango, and enduring humanity.

November 18 – December 17, 2011
A Christmas Twist by Doug Armstrong, Keith Cooper, Maureen Morley and Tom Willmorth
directed by Clint Heyn

A Christmas Carol and Oliver Twist collide to create this holiday comedy. Join Tiny Twist as he discovers who he is and mingles with a host of characters who don't seem to know what play they are in. A mash up  of the stories of Oliver Twist and A Christmas Carol, with a little Orphan Annie mixed in, this romp throws these characters together in a big bowl of literary Christmas punch to create a fresh take on what Christmas really means.

February 24 – March 24, 2012
Coronado by Dennis Lehane
directed by Luke Allen Terry

Coronado follows three intertwining tales: A father and son searching for a missing girl and a stolen diamond; a psychiatrist and a patient having an illicit affair; and two lovers plotting a murder. Set in the Southwest, Coronado is a taut thriller that explores the dark side of America and the things we're willing to do for love, for money, and finally for redemption.
