The city’s youngest singers, dancers and performers rank among the best in the Denver metro area, according to the results of a regional talent competition.
Performers from Aurora placed in six of the seven categories at the “Night of Stars” regional talent show held April 23 at the Lakewood Cultural Center. The show featured more than 40 performers from around the metro area competing for prizes in dance, vocal and variety categories.

Variety act 3 Orange Doods won first place in the variety category for grades 9-12; Brandon Crichfield won first place in the vocals category for grades 9 to 12; and Jacqueline Smook won first place in the vocals category for grades 5 to 8. Brooklyn Murphy won second place in the dance category for grades 5 to 8; Sarah Avila won second place in the variety category for grades 5 to 8; and Zhaedyn “Z” Hodge Sigars won second place in the dance category for grades K to 4.
The regional competion followed a local “Night of the Stars” contest held on March 19 at the Aurora Fox theater. More than 25 acts took to the stage during the local performance, vying for a chance to compete at the regional level.
It’s the first time the Aurora Fox has joined arts and cultural centers from around the Denver metro area for the “Night of the Stars” regional event, which is now in its fifth year. The “Grand Finale” event featured performers from Brighton, Northglenn and other cities as well as acts from Aurora.
